Nicole Vaillancourt MSc (PT), BEd, BA (Kin)

Clinical Director & Lead Physiotherapist

Nicole is a registered physiotherapist and clinical director of Summit Physiotherapy.  She graduated from McMaster University with a Master degree in physiotherapy.  She has a keen interest in sports therapy and enjoyed a once in a lifetime experience as a volunteer physiotherapist with the Men’s Irish National Basketball team during the European Qualifiers in 2009.  Prior to pursuing a career in physiotherapy, Nicole was a certified personal trainer.  She has also obtained a Bachelors of Education degree and taught in the UK.  Combining these passions, Nicole is committed to educating the next generation of physiotherapists.  She is an adjunct academic staff member and clinical instructor at Queen’s University.  Nicole also has a keen interest in animal therapy and is pursuing her degree in canine rehabilitation.  In her spare time, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, playing slo-pitch and floor hockey and DIY home projects.

 

Nicole has post graduate training in Manual Therapy, Acupuncture, McKenzie Methods (Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy), Soft Tissue Techniques, Sport and Corrective Taping, Concussion and Post-Concussion Syndrome.  She also has training treating conditions of the spine, foot, ankle and the tempomandibular joint (Jaw).

Nicole is an Academic Assistant and Clinical Instructor at Queens University School of Rehabilitation.



Jennifer Kates MSc (PT), BSc (Kin)

Registered Physiotherapist

Jenn is a graduate of the Master of Science in Physical Therapy program at Queen's University and a full-time Physiotherapist at Summit. Prior to completing her Master’s she completed her Bachelor of Sciences in Kinesiology also at Queen's University. She played on the Queen's Golf team for 5 years, capping off her career with a team Bronze medal at the 2016 Ontario University Championships. Jenn enjoys staying active, traveling and competing in a multitude of sports including golf, hockey, ultimate, basketball and baseball.

Jenn has post graduate training in Acupuncture, Manual Therapy and Soft Tissue Techniques. Jennifer is an Academic

Assistant and Clinical Instructor at Queens University School of Rehabilitation.

 

Greg Hoegy, MSc (PT), BSc (Kin)

Registered Physiotherapist

Greg is a graduate from the Masters of Physiotherapy program from Queen’s University in 2015.  He has post-graduate training in concussion, acupuncture, manual therapy, shoulder management and soft tissue release.  Before working as a physiotherapist, he worked as a kinesologist for 2 years in Kitchener, gaining valuable skills in exercise prescription and strength and conditioning.

 

In his spare time, Greg is an avid water polo player, previously competing at the provincial and varsity levels and refereeing at the National level. He also enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and curling.

 

Eliana Stein, MSc (PT), BA (Kin), BA (Psyc)

Physiotherapy Resident

Eliana is a Physiotherapy Resident and graduate of the MSc Physiotherapy program at Queen’s University (2020). Prior to studying physiotherapy, Eliana completed undergraduate studies in Kinesiology (Western University) and Psychology (Yok University).  While new to the Physiotherapy profession, Eliana has worked in health and wellness since 2004, with a wide range of clinical populations (e.g. MSK injuries, chronic pain, sleep and anxiety disorders, oncology, pre- and post-natal), in the community, corporate and hospital settings.

 

As a Registered Kinesiologist (Resigned 2018) and yoga instructor (ERYT-500) Eliana has been passionate about helping people find more physical and mental comfort through movement, breathing and relaxation techniques. Eliana taught group yoga classes and individualized yoga therapy in Toronto since 2008. Prior to starting her graduate studies in Kingston, Eliana worked at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto as a clinical research coordinator and yoga instructor coordinating and delivering two clinical trials exploring the effects of individualized yoga in children undergoing cancer treatment.

 

Eliana’s diverse academic and clinical experiences allow her to offer a unique and holistic approach to physiotherapy.

 

 

Mathew McFarlane, RMT

Registered Massage Therapist

Mathew has been practicing registered massage therapy in the Kingston area for over 10 years.  During this time, he has treated everything form general relaxation to professional athletes.  He has training in pre- and post-natal massage, Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger-point therapy, and deep tissue massage.  In his spare time, Mathew is an avid outdoorsman.
